Ministry Mission Statement: The Christian Service and Justice Committee (CS&J) is the social outreach of the Parish. The committee aids individuals in need by working closely with Deep Well, Holy Family's St. Vincent De Paul Society and other local agencies, sharing information and financial requests. The committee is funded by the parish and parishioner donations. Assistance consists of payment for rent, utilities, food, prescriptions, etc. Thrift Store vouchers for furniture and clothing are provided when appropriate. The committee acts as a conduit for food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Current Ministry Activities:  CS&J maintains an office on the church property. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9AM to Noon. Volunteers screen the requests for assistance evaluate the need and request the appropriate monies or services from sources. Client records are maintained on a specific computer program and backed up with paper files. Volunteers compare requests with other agencies to determine if there is duplication by the client. They verify the requested need with utilities, rental agencies and employers.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:  At the present time, CS&J has twenty-five volunteers from the Parish. From time to time we need to replace our current volunteers with new ones; however, we have a sufficient staff.

Resource Requirements:  CS&J is funded by the Parish at $5,000 per month. During the past fiscal year, this outreach ministry has helped over 400 individuals and families providing them with over $60,000 in assistance. The need in our Parish is always greater than the funds available. Additional funding from the church or parishioners is always welcome.
