The liturgist reports to the Pastor and is responsible for the coordination of Church liturgical functions (such as Masses, Holy Days, First Communion, Confirmation, etc.) The liturgist meets regularly with the Pastor to discuss upcoming liturgical celebrations. Once the schedule is set, the liturgist communicates and coordinates with the various liturgical ministries (Deacons, Extraordinary Ministers, altar servers, ushers, lectors, and sacristans) to ensure that each liturgical function has the appropriate complement of individuals. Coordination must also be made to ensure that notices in the church bulletin are posted in a timely manner. |
