Safe Environment Programs Update

SAFE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMS: St. Francis by the Sea has instituted Safe Environment programs to assure the safety of our children. Employees of St. Francis Church or School, volunteers in the church or school who have contact with or are around children, and Extraordinary Ministers to the Sick must do the following:

◊ Attend a “VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children Program for Adults”
◊ Successfully complete a background screening
◊ Sign a volunteer/employee code of conduct
◊ Sign an acknowledgement of receipt of the Diocesan Policy on Handling Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse

These must be done prior to being hired or assuming the volunteer position.

VIRTUS PROGRAMS CLASSES:
There are no scheduled classes at St. Francis by the Sea at this time. If you attend classes at another parish, you need to bring a copy of the certificate of completion to our parish Safe Environment Coordinator.

Catholic Radio in SC

WLTQ 730AM is On the Air!

Listen online at  http://www.catholicradioinsc.com/

Mediatrix SC, Inc., was started with a mission to broadcast Catholic programming that communicates Christian truth as expressed in sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition in accord with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

In addition, their goal is to become a conduit of communication for, of and between parishes and apostolates within the Diocese of Charleston and perhaps beyond. They hope to use the medium of radio to help foster a greater sense of Catholic community in an area where Catholics are a minority population.

Since its inception, Catholic radio in South Carolina has been dedicated to educating Catholics in their faith, evangelizing fallen away brethren and reaching those who may have an interest in learning more about Catholicism.
