Peace Movement of St. Francis
Contact: Mary Sullivan
Scheduled Meetings: First Wednesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Center.
Mission Statement: The Peace Movement of St. Francis group is part of the international Catholic peace movement. We meet in the spirit of the nonviolent Jesus. It is committed to the exploration of the Christian tradition and witness of nonviolence, which rejects war, preparations for war, and every form of violence and domination. It promotes the gospel imperative of peacemaking as a priority in the Catholic Church.
Current Activities: Individual Responsibility of Committee Members:
- Promote the gospel imperative of peacemaking
- Establish strong, honest, caring relationships — both personal and institutional — across racial lines that can transform structures and cultures of violence and domination
Current Volunteer Opportunities: New members are always welcome.
