Mission: To bring together parishioners who have a common interest in reading, listening to, and discussing poetry. Parishioners will read to seniors in assisted living and retirement homes. Readings: are one hour, every other month, on a Tuesday morning to be announced, at 9 AM in the parish Family Center. Refreshments will be provided. The format includes reading two major poets, poems that participants bring, new poems and anthologies.
Original Poem: "Night is Falling" Night is falling like a gentle rain Shades and curtains of black draw in the sky
With a cool breeze as the sun is consumed By the waiting earth to close it's light. The morning explodes with life like a highland pipe Forcing it's music to air and rise full and bright. Clouds caress the sun to diffuse its light and allow Showers to fall on meadows to touch with delight. Living creatures nurtured seeking breath For light and sight. Hearts reaching to search for understanding and love All must rest for the next Fall of night. Bob Hamel, 2002
