Ministry Mission Statement: Priest and Deacons are Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The Second Vatican Council called for the faithful present at Mass to assist the Ordinary Ministers in distributing Holy Communion, as requested by the Pastor.

Genuine ministry is about humble service. The model for all ministry is Christ the Lord who came to serve, not to be served. His command to “love one another” (cf. John 13:43) was modeled throughout his life and ministry. The Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion must put aside personal needs in order to serve the community and give faithful testimony to Christ’s presence in the Eucharist.

Current Ministry Activities:  Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (formerly called “Eucharistic Ministers”) are formally commissioned to give assistance. These individuals serve Christ who is present in the assembly by distributing his Body and Blood to their brothers and sisters during Mass.  Some of them also serve as Extraordinary Ministers to the Sick.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:  If you feel God is calling you to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, please click on the application form on this page. You can download the form from this page and either email it or print out and deliver the completed form to the church office.

Holy CommunionWe are called to ministry through our baptism. While ministry can take on several forms, liturgical ministry serves the Body of Christ during the celebration of the Mass.
