The St. Francis Thrift Shop is located at 6 Southwood Park Drive, just off Hwy. 278. Donors drop off clothing, housewares, artwork, working appliances, and furniture to be sold, with proceeds going to serve the needy of the community through the outreach ministries of the church and through direct grants. Donations and volunteers are always welcome. Donations are accepted Wednesday through Saturday during business hours and on Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

On Thursday, November 9^th, St. Francis Thrift Shop held its 2006 Annual Volunteer Dinner at the Country Club of Hilton Head.  225 people attended.  After dinner, grant checks were presented to representatives of twenty local non-profit organizations.  They are as follows:  A Community Caring for Children; Access Network, Inc.; Alzheimer’s Respite & Resource; American Red Cross-Palmetto Chapter; Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry; Cancer Support of the Lowcountry; Children’s Relief Fund; Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse; Community Alliance for Drug Education; Hilton Head Citizens for Life; Hilton Head Heroes; Latin American Council of South Carolina; Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry; Meals-On-Wheels; National Alliance on Mental Illness; Pregnancy Center & Clinic of the Lowcountry; Programs for Exceptional People; Sabor Latino of HHI;  St. Vincent de Paul Society; The Children’s Center.  The Thrift Shop has donated $200,000 in grants and in kind services to the Outreach Ministries of St. Francis by the Sea Church.

The year has been busy at the shop.  Donations of clothing have been made to Goodwill, The Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.  Vouchers brought in from the Christian Service & Justice Committee of St. Francis By the Sea allowed people in need to find much appreciated furniture and clothing.

The Managers and volunteers of the St. Francis Thrift Shop wish to thank our wonderful generous community for making all this possible.  Our donors enable us to fulfill the vision of St. Francis exemplified by our motto, “For it is in giving that we receive.”
