Parishioner Recognition Award

PARISHIONER RECOGNITION AWARD

Since 2011, the parish has used this award to recognize those parishioners who have offered their services to the parish over the years.  The award is presented during the Ministry Fair in November.

Guidelines to nominate a candidate:

In submitting a recommendation to the Parish Pastoral Council, please provide the following information and use the submission instructions.

Your candidate(s) can be any past or present member of St. Francis by the Sea, living or deceased, who has served the parish in one or more of the following ways:

Does this person:

  • Helps or has helped our parish by taking on difficult or thankless jobs over the years?
  • Go beyond what you consider the typical parishioner does or has done?
  • Uses or has used their talents to help our parish solve problems?
  • Provides or has provided leadership by working with a team or ministry?
  • Works or has worked for the benefit of the parish unpaid and unnoticed?

If you said yes to any or all the preceding statements, then please proceed to nominate.

Submission Instructions:

Provide a write-up with six to eight sentences describing why you feel this person deserves recognition.  Include your name, phone number, and e-mail address, along with your candidate's name, phone number, and e-mail address by the deadline, August 24th, 2019.

Congratulations to the 2018 Recipients of the St. Francis by the Sea Recognition Award!

For many years, these recipients have offered their time and talent to the benefit of the Parish Community!

Congratulations Dave DeReamer and Joan DiMaria!


Dave DeReamer

As a parishioner for 20 years, Dave DeReamer has answered the call whenever his time and talent has been needed.  Dave has been a volunteer at the St. Francis Thrift Shop and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus.  He has served on the facilities committee, stewardship committee and as a volunteer at the St. Francis Catholic School.  He helped initiate and worked with the school's Breakfast with Santa, as well as the annual volleyball tournaments.  He has been instrumental in supporting the Sharing Thy Bounty, Parish Picnic, and improving campus signage.


Joan DiMaria

Joan DiMaria as been a St. Francis member for over 20 years and has contributed to parish and community life throughout that time.  Joan has worked tirelessly to assure the completion of the last two Parish Directories.  As a member of the Women of St. Francis, where she served as both President and Treasurer, she initiated a program where by members go to The Life Care Center to entertain residents with birthday parties and games.  Joan began a tradition that continues today along with Joan's weekly visits to the center.  Joan spent 6 years on Parish Council where she was instrumental in establishing this recognition award.


Joan and Dave were recognized in the Church at the conclusion of the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, November 4th.  The Mass was followed by a reception in the Family Center in conjunction with the ministry fair where parish members had the opportunity to congratulate them on their achievements.
