Pope Francis invites the whole Church to question itself on synodality, or togetherness: a decisive issue for the life and mission of the Catholic Church. The synod theme is: For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission.
In a formal declaration, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, the Secretary-General of the Synod of Bishops, announced that Pope Francis will convene the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in October 2022.

El Papa Francisco invita a toda la Iglesia a interrogarse sobre la sinodalidad: un tema decisivo para la vida y la misión de la Iglesia. Su tema es: “Por una Iglesia sinodal: comunión, participación y misión”.
