Lectors

Contact: Barb Jostworth

Mission Statement: The lector has a crucial role in the liturgy; that of proclaiming the word of God to the congregation. As much as possible, lectors are assigned to the Mass of their choice.  A prospective lector will meet with the Lector Coordinator in the church in order to practice reading and to go over procedures. The most important requirements for a lector are commitment, preparation, technical skill related to microphone use, and personal communications skills.

Lenten morning of prayer was presented by Sister Susan Arcaro, rc , on February 25th.  Lector workshops and quarterly training also completed.  There were 25 lectors in attendance.  Two new lectors were trained in this session.

Next lector training will be held in June.  Date and time to be determined.  Annoucement of the date and time will be put into the weekly Flocknote and also in the Sunday bulletin.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:  This ministry is open to all registered parishioners who meet the above requirements.
