Catholic Appeal of South Carolina
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
This month, our diocese will take up a second collection to support the Catholic Appeal of South Carolina (CASC) beginning Feb. 3-4. This yearly initiative plays a vital role in providing for our Catholic Schools, charitable ministries, education funds for seminarians and much more.
Donations are not used to support or fund the Chancery. Instead, these gifts go to food pantries and economic support to those in need; to Catholic campus ministries at colleges throughout the state to form young adults in faith and discipleship; to send men to seminary to become our priests; and to retired priests for healthcare assistance and pension costs. These are only a few of the many programs supported by the appeal. All proceeds of this collection make a uniquely local impact across our state.
I am greatly encouraged by the good works across South Carolina brought about by your generosity to last year's appeal. I thank you in advance for your continued support. Let’s be together — let’s be “good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Pet 4:10).
