Matthew J. Meloche
Matthew J. Meloche was born in Ontario, Canada, studied (secular) philosophy at the University of Windsor, and immigrated to the United States in 2007 to begin a career in the field of church music. He is best known for his run as Director of Sacred Music at the Cathedral of Phoenix, Arizona where he built a large and vibrant choral program and oversaw the installation of a new pipe organ. Matthew has been a speaker at sacred music conferences in Arizona (keynote), California, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska (keynote), New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Utah. He has been a consultant for multiple hymnals and music publishers, has consulted for numerous church musician hiring processes and three pipe organ projects, and has had several articles published in the field of Gregorian chant. As a musician he's known for his exciting interpretations of Italian baroque organ music and modal improvisations. His interests include travel, cooking, hiking, photography, and literature.
